Entry for the 2024 Queensland State Snooker Titles is now open. This event is open to Queensland residents or QBSA affiliated club members.

Dress Code:
Matches up until the semi-finals – dress code includes leather dress shoes, business suit style trousers, a QBSA affiliate club / QBSA / ABSC affiliate snooker branded polo shirt, plain polo shirt (no bright colours) or a long-sleeved collared button up business shirt. Other branded polo shirts will not be accepted (eg. pool or work related).
Semi finals and Finals – full tournament dress is required to be worn. This includes leather dress shoes, business suit style trousers, long-sleeved collared button up business shirt, vest and bowtie.
ABOUT THE QBSA CLUB LEAGUES
The QBSA has a long history of the interclub competition, formally known as the Brisbane Districts Pennants, allowing our affiliate clubs to enter a team to verse other affiliates in Team vs Team Snooker and Billiards Seasons. Teams play home matches and travel for away matches at other clubs in a round-robin format, with the Top 4 teams going through to the finals.
Winning the Pennant for your club was a great honour and showed the calibre of players your club had. Moving up from the lower grades to try and play in A Grade was a common goal for players and inspired players to practice and improve. Pennant was also a great way to prepare for tournaments, and players were always in regular match play on a week to week basis.
Known now as the QBSA Club Leagues since 2020 and run by the QBSA, with the QBSA Club Leagues Sub-Committee’s assistance, we invite each club to provide feedback and suggestions throughout the year by contacting the QBSA Secretary.
Foul and a Miss – applying the rule for the amateur game
An instructional video has been produced by Adam Wyard (Certified Referee – Class 1, Examiner) for Snooker WA with the aim of giving amateur players a guide to applying the Foul and a Miss rule. The target audience is not so much for Referees, it is directed more to the players who are self-refereeing, but it is a starting point for discussion as to how the rule should be applied at the amateur level.
The 2022 QBSA Individual Billiards League will run in conjunction with the 2022 QBSA Club Snooker League later in the year.
Nomination forms and League rules will be sent out to all Affiliates and Members closer to the date.
12-month rolling ranking system. The following event types will be counted for each list:
Snooker = Any open snooker, and the QLD Residents, or an event that has been sanctioned to receive QLD ranking points.
Billiards = Any open billiards, and the QLD Residents, or an event that has been sanctioned to receive QLD ranking points.
Women = The combined total of earned State Snooker and State Billiards Ranking points, plus points earned for Women only events that have been sanctioned to receive QLD ranking points.
Junior Snooker = The combined total of earned State Snooker, U18 Junior Snooker Ranking Events that have been sanctioned to receive Qld ranking points and one Junior State Title (being the most appropriate for State Team selection).
Junior Billiards = The combined total of earned State Billiards, U18 Junior Billiards Ranking Events that have been sanctioned to receive Qld ranking points and one Junior U18 Billiards State Title.

Membership of the QBSA runs from 1st January to 31st December each year. The QBSA has recently received approval of a new Constitution which introduces a new membership structure.
There are now multiple membership categories with the following fees:
– Individual Members = $150 per year
– Life Members = no fee
– Junior Members = $2 per year
– Social Members = no fee charged by the QBSA
– Clubs = $150 per year
– Private Clubs = $150 per year
– Regional Associations = $150 per year
All Individual Members, Life Members, Junior Members and Social Members are eligible to participate in QBSA tournaments and leagues. For more details regarding Membership, please read Clause 6 of the current QBSA Constitution (available under “Governance”).
